About The Position

The Wait Staff member takes meal orders and serves assisted living residents during evening service. The role includes welcoming residents, offering drinks and coffee, sharing the daily special, confirming food orders, and communicating orders to the cook. While orders are prepared, the employee plates desserts, refills drinks, clears dishes, and prepares food items and condiments. The position also involves operating the dish machine, resetting tables, maintaining cleanliness in the dining area and walk-in cooler, storing clean dishes properly, and ensuring preparation is ready for the next shift.

Requirements

Ability to maintain high cleanliness standards and follow sanitation rules and regulations.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Willingness to attend all in-service training sessions.
Willingness to learn and interest in improving the food service department.
Ability to work weekends when needed to fill a shift shortage.
Ability to take initiative and help with cleaning and other staff members’ work.

Responsibilities

Welcome residents, bring water, introduce yourself, and offer drinks and coffee.
Tell residents the daily special, take meal orders, and confirm orders.
Give orders to the cook.
Plate desserts while orders are being prepared; refill drinks and clear dishes.
Serve food orders and provide drink refills.
Clear dishes and reset tables.
Prepare citrus fruit, cottage cheese, applesauce, condiments, and salad dressings.
Run dishes through the dish machine as they are cleared.
Clean all dishes and the work area before leaving.
Clean the walk-in cooler.
Store dishes clean and dry in the proper place.
Ensure preparation is ready for the next shift.
Work weekends to fill in when there is a shift shortage.
Take initiative to identify and complete needed tasks, including cleaning and helping other staff members.
