About The Position

This part-time Wait Staff position in Assisted Living involves preparing and serving food to residents according to the menu, ensuring proper portion sizes, sanitation, and plate presentation. The role also includes responsibility for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the dining room and related areas.

Requirements

Plates food for assisted living residents according to the menu, using proper portion sizes.
Ensures that residents dining expectations are met.
Maintains proper sanitation and plate presentation.
Responsible for all sanitation in the ALF dining room, including floors, floor mats, coolers, etc.
Maintains established infection control and universal precautions.

Responsibilities

Prepares waters and ice tea for residents, placing glasses at tables.
Picks up the assisted living facility (ALF) hot and cold cart from the kitchen.
Takes temperatures and checks the quantity and quality of food in the main kitchen.
Washes all dishes and glasses.
Ensures small wares are returned to the ALF unit.
Keeps Dietary Manager and Chef informed of any chemical or small ware needs.
Cleans and sanitizes ALF dining room and dish room.
Empties ice from the salad bar.
Removes all trash from the unit.
Checks with nursing staff and residents regarding ALF needs.
Checks for outdated items such as milk to ensure no outdated items are used.
Follows instructions given by Chef and Lead Cook.
May be pulled to work in any area of the department at any time.
Attends scheduled food service inservices concerning food preparation and sanitation.
Assures that established infection control and universal precautions are maintained when performing duties.
Performs other duties as assigned.
