About The Position

The VSL2 Lead Machine Operator assists the Process Technician with machine setups, changeovers, defined Autonomous Maintenance, and machine tuning. The role operates machines when needed to help meet key performance indicators, diagnoses and repairs hard metal handling and basic welding issues, and supports operators and new-operator training. The position also involves changing electrodes and grinding wheels. This role calls for extensive practical experience and judgment, the ability to resolve complex issues, and providing guidance to others.

• Knowledge of Lockout & Tagout.
• Understanding of HMIs.
• Knowledge of CNC programs and offsets.
• Ability to apply theories, concepts, principles, and techniques to varied tasks or somewhat difficult situations.
• Judgment within defined practices and the ability to resolve complex issues.
• Extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Ability to operate with substantial latitude for reviewed action or decision.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Process Technician with machine setups and changeovers.
• Perform defined Autonomous Maintenance and tune machines.
• Operate machines when required to help meet KPIs.
• Diagnose and repair hard metal handling issues and basic welding issues.
• Assist the Technician with setups and changeovers.
• Train new operators and assist operators as needed.
• Change electrodes.
• Change grinding wheels.
• Provide guidance to others.
