VP Talent Acquisition Specialist

MSCI Inc.•New York, NY
•$128,000 - $162,000

About The Position

MSCI's Talent Acquisition team is a strategic partner to the business, hiring across Technology, Research, Product Management, Client Coverage, and Corporate Functions. As a Vice President, you will own a portfolio of searches end to end and advise senior hiring managers on how to define, assess, and select talent. You will operate as a 360 recruiter on assigned requisitions, building market maps, engaging passive candidates directly, and managing searches through offer, with support from the Sourcing team on high-volume and hard-to-fill mandates. The role emphasizes a positive recruiting experience for hiring managers, candidates, and HR colleagues. You will recruit for junior to senior roles across multiple functions and business units, build talent-market intelligence, partner with HR Business Partners and Compensation colleagues, and manage offers and pre-boarding handoffs. You will also maintain ATS data and report on search metrics, champion MSCI's employer brand and inclusive hiring, mentor junior recruiters and sourcers, and contribute to improvements in TA processes, tooling, and AI-enabled workflows.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of full-lifecycle recruiting experience, in-house or in a search firm, with a track record of hiring across more than one function.
  • Demonstrated success as a 360 recruiter, including sourcing independent pipelines rather than relying solely on inbound candidates.
  • Recruiting experience in financial services, fintech, data, or technology environments.
  • Ability to influence and advise senior hiring managers, including Managing Director and Executive Director-level leaders.
  • Proficiency with Boolean search and LinkedIn Recruiter, market mapping, and direct engagement with passive candidates.
  • Strong service orientation toward the experience of hiring managers, candidates, and HR partners.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and shifting priorities while managing concurrent searches across time zones.
  • Data fluency, including use of funnel metrics and market data to set expectations and guide decisions.
  • Experience with modern ATS and CRM platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA, BS, or equivalent) from an accredited four-year college, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Lead structured intake sessions to align hiring managers on scorecards, target profiles, market realities, and interview design before searches open.
  • Build and maintain competitive talent maps and market intelligence, proactively sharing insights with business and HR leaders.
