About The Position

Reporting to the Chief Investment Strategist, the VP, Sr Investment Director is responsible for creating content to convey the rationale behind our investment approach and facilitate interactions with clients and prospects. This is a critical role in that the individual is expected to work closely with the investment, marketing and client service teams in determining strategic priorities and leading their execution. This remote position will be based out of Virginia.

Requirements

  • MBA/CFA preferred
  • At least seven years or more of product management experience and/or client portfolio management experience, with a demonstrated record of success
  • Solid understanding of financial industry’s asset management distribution channels
  • Detailed understanding of financial theory and fundamental and quantitative investment approaches, including the ability to articulate these concepts orally and in writing
  • The personal and professional ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, start-up culture where there will be ambiguity and the expectation to be hands-on and “in the trenches” while building the business
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and be able to prioritize the highest impact outputs
  • Thrives in a team-based culture that expects teamwork, information sharing and partnership
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated initiative to exceed stated job responsibilities, take informed risks, make principled decisions, and face high-stakes issues head-on
  • FINRA Series 7 & 63 license or ability to attain in a short-term frame

Responsibilities

  • Develop and demonstrate an in-depth understanding of our investment approach, including the ability to articulate why we do what we do
  • Act as point-person for recurring periodic deliverables supporting our investment strategies and clients
  • Create analysis and interpret results to communicate investment rationale, explain performance and provide market and economic perspectives
  • Conduct periodic investment training for sales and marketing professionals in Intermediary and Institutional
  • Spearhead development of strategic messaging initiatives and communications strategy to help win and retain assets
  • Create and/or maintain a detailed written account of the investment process, philosophy, and portfolio construction methodologies
  • Develop tools to help portfolio teams communicate and present our investment messages
  • Analyze and interpret data about investment strategies relative to benchmarks and competitors for internal and external audiences
  • Create/maintain institutional caliber presentations to be used by both sales and investment professionals.
  • Lead all aspects of the design, content, and updates of investment presentations and materials to ensure a consistent investment message
  • Provide strategic recommendations for new strategies and offerings.
  • Serve as feedback mechanism from the marketplace to the investment process.
  • Respond to requests for data, research and analysis from the sales channels as it relates to the relevant investment strategies
  • Serve as a resource for RFPs/DDQs and the positioning of investment strategies in the marketplace
