About The Position

This role is responsible for the identification, implementation, tracking, and course correction of National Service Lines (NSL)-specific Process Improvement and Quality Improvement initiatives. The position works with Quality leadership to develop system-wide strategic initiatives and objectives around quality and patient safety, ensuring their effective implementation. It also collaborates with the Division-Based Medical Group leader to align physician compensation models with organizational goals and provides input on necessary modifications. The VP is responsible for budget development, implementation, monitoring, and achievement of budget goals, managing service line resource utilization, and developing physician and APP productivity expectations. This role drives the deployment, spread, and sustainability of new delivery models, practice locations, and consolidations, and determines new market growth strategies and expansion plans. Additionally, it develops physician/APP growth plans to ensure a balance of providers supporting all missions and delivering high-quality care. The VP collaborates with key stakeholders in delivering the Advocate Health model of care, assists in new practice acquisitions and the assimilation of new groups, and is responsible for the integration, adoption, and deployment of Advocate Health REWIRE 2030 Strategies with a focus on Quality & Service and System of Systems of Care. The role supports training programs aligned to the service line, clinical research endeavors, and physician and APP satisfaction and morale. It focuses on developing future leaders among the medical staff, identifying physicians who excel in quality and service, overseeing division clinical care delivery leadership, and directing strategic hiring and manpower planning. The VP serves as the primary physician liaison for recruiting, onboarding, and credentialing, and represents Advocate Health to the community.

Requirements

  • MD or DO Degree is required.
  • Board Certification in a clinical discipline.
  • Graduation from an accredited medical school.
  • Typically requires 10 years of experience in leading and developing quality initiatives, improvements, and programs to include, if necessary, appropriate metrics and benchmarks.
  • Experience in or knowledge of healthcare services throughout the continuum of care.

Responsibilities

  • Development of Advocate Health system-wide strategic initiatives and objectives around quality and patient safety in collaboration with Quality leadership.
  • Ensuring physician compensation models align with organizational goals and providing input on necessary modifications.
  • Budget development, implementation, monitoring, and achievement of budget goals.
  • Management of service line resource utilization.
  • Development of physician and APP productivity expectations and management of individual physician/APP performance.
  • Deployment, spread, and sustainability of new delivery models, practice locations, and practice consolidations.
  • Determination of new market growth strategies/plans and established market expansion plans, and driving execution of plans.
  • Development of physician/APP growth plans and ensuring a balance of providers to support all missions and deliver high-quality care.
  • Collaboration with key stakeholders in the delivery of the Advocate Health model of care for the SVC LINE within the Division.
  • Assistance in the process for new practice acquisitions, developing new managed network relationships, and the assimilation of these groups.
  • Integration, adoption, and deployment of Advocate Health REWIRE 2030 Strategies with a focus on Quality & Service, and System of Systems of Care.
  • Adoption, deployment, and sustainability of all strategic initiatives.
  • Support for training programs aligned to the service line within the division.
  • Support for clinical research endeavors within the division.
  • Ensuring physician and APP satisfaction and morale within the service line.
  • Development and maintenance of good working relationships with employed and aligned Physicians and APPs.
  • Identification and development of future leaders among the medical staff.
  • Identification and recognition of physicians who go ‘above & beyond’ to support excellence in quality, service, efficiency & the overall continuum of care.
  • Overseeing Division clinical care delivery leadership, including planning and day-to-day management.
  • Directing strategic hiring and Advocate Health physician manpower planning to achieve organizational goals and optimum use of clinical resources.
  • Serving as the primary physician liaison with physician recruiting, assuring onboarding, credentialing, and other HR functions.
  • Representing Advocate Health to the community as appropriate.
