About The Position

The VP of Sales will report directly to the CEO and will be responsible for leading and developing our sales team, owning revenue growth, and driving the company forward as a key member of the Whistic executive team. This is a player-coach role for someone who wants to be close to the work: close to the deals, close to the team, and close to the strategy. The ideal candidate has experience scaling sales at a Series B or similar-stage B2B SaaS company, a track record of building outbound motions from the ground up, and the ability to develop AEs into hunters, not just closers. Requirements

  • 7+ years in B2B SaaS sales with meaningful experience at the $10M–$20M ARR stage - you know what it takes to grow through this phase because you’ve done it
  • Proven track record closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals in security, IT, procurement, or compliance-adjacent markets
  • Experience building or overhauling outbound sales motions
  • A genuine player-coach mentality
  • Executive presence without the ego
  • Comfort operating without heavy infrastructure around you
  • Familiarity with the GRC, TPRM, or security/compliance space is a meaningful plus; ability to get fluent fast is a must
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Own team revenue targets and hold individual AEs accountable to their quotas, while staying close enough to the deals to know exactly where things stand at any given time
  • Be actively involved in deals, ie: jumping on calls, helping AEs navigate complex stakeholders, and modeling what great discovery, qualification, and closing looks like
  • Build and execute an outbound motion that puts our AEs in a hunting posture, not a waiting one
  • Own sales process, methodology, and tooling, including Salesforce and Gong, in partnership with our RevOps function
  • Deliver accurate forecasting, maintain pipeline hygiene, and own board-level reporting on sales performance
  • Recruit, develop, and retain AE talent as the team grows
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Customer Success, and Product on GTM alignment, messaging, and pipeline generation
  • Serve as a key member of the Whistic executive team, contributing to company-wide strategy, pushing the team toward better decisions, and assuming shared ownership of business goals
