About The Position

Hinge is seeking a VP of Product, Trust and Safety to lead the next chapter in building proactive, user-felt safety experiences powered by responsible AI. This role is crucial for setting the industry standard for safety in consumer technology. The VP will own the long-term T&S product strategy, manage a team of product managers across various safety workstreams, and foster an environment for high-velocity, high-impact execution. Operating within Hinge's leadership team, this position will collaborate across executive levels at both Hinge and Match Group to drive alignment and progress.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of product management experience within consumer technology companies, ideally with significant time in Trust & Safety, integrity or a closely adjacent domain (rideshare, marketplace, gaming, social media).
  • Proven track record of building, developing, and scaling high-performing product teams.
  • Hands-on fluency with AI and machine learning in a product context, understanding both possibilities and guardrails for responsible application.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex challenges into clear product strategy with measurable user and business outcomes.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to lead through influence and communicate clearly across executive leadership, Legal and Policy partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional analytical and creative problem-solving skills with comfort operating in high-urgency, ambiguous environments.
  • Deep user empathy and consumer-centric thinking, believing safety is a felt experience.
  • Collaborative team player and organizational leader with a strong commitment to cross-functional excellence and culture.
  • Experience partnering with AI/ML teams on detection, classification, or GenAI-related risk mitigation.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in regulated or safety-sensitive domains such as marketplaces, fintech, or social platforms.
  • Familiarity with T&S operations workflows, case management, and policy-to-product translation.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the long-term T&S product strategy and roadmap, focusing on proactive safety, felt safety, and net-new user-facing features.
  • Lead, develop, and grow a team of product managers across core T&S workstreams (account integrity, enforcement fairness, internal tools, age assurance, IRL safety, etc.).
  • Build a culture of high standards, ownership, and psychological safety within the product team.
  • Drive predictable, high-velocity delivery and create conditions for PMs to own their workstreams end-to-end.
  • Identify and champion opportunities to apply AI (machine learning, LLMs) thoughtfully across the T&S product surface to improve safety outcomes and user experience.
  • Operate at the executive level across Hinge and Match Group, partnering with Engineering, Data Science, Legal, Policy, and Operations.
  • Translate industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging threat patterns into actionable product strategy.
  • Champion net-new capabilities that position T&S as a growth driver.
