The Market Sales VP will be responsible for executing local market-specific sales strategies, driving profitable sales in collaboration with the Retail sales team and Business Unit, and managing all local market specific DSD sales activities. This role involves maintaining close contact with ASDs regarding relationships with Independent Distributor Partners (IDPs), identifying opportunities to grow business through key customer accounts, and coaching/training ASDs on developing these relationships. The Market Sales VP will also communicate regularly with the Regional Sales VP to provide insights on local market successes and areas for improvement.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Sales or Business Administration preferred
Relevant experience in general management or sales.
Equivalent combination of education, experience, and skills may supplement above minimum job requirements.

Responsibilities

Responsible for executing sales strategies based on guidance from VP of Regional Sales and VP of Division Sales
Work cross-functionally with the bakeries on report product quality opportunities, late delivery dispatch, and other issues that directly impact the sale department
Partner with ASDs to execute local sales plans and pursue profitable new business to achieve period and annual goals
Maintain close contact with VP of Regional Sales and provide updates on performance results and competitor activity to ensure talent and sales plans are aligned to business needs and market demands
Work with ASDs to analyze reports from the digital sales teams, distributor enablement, revenue growth management and utilizing the Customer Product Profitability (CPP) dashboard to grow profitable sales
Ensure ASDs work daily with our fundamentals (displays, customer relations, time schedule and callbacks, space and position and distribution)
Assist ASDs in selling and general/IDP relationship efforts, and provide industry standards and best practices advice to successful execution against plan
Responsible for usage of digital products and the Go Spot Check (GSC) tool for daily and focused missions determined by the digital sales team. Use the tool and reporting to monitor units and dollar sales, profit margin, and stale to drive business conversations with IDPs and customer accounts
Provide ASDs with proper guidance, direction, and assistance to achieve profit goals and compliance with all applicable policies and procedures (e.g., customer service requirements, equipment, vehicle, warehouse and other sales-related areas, recruitment, retention, orientation, training, discipline, safety, record keeping, EEO, and other HR-related areas)
Conduct weekly meetings with ASDs to discuss performance against perfect store execution
Coach and mentor ASDs in the understanding and use of available information, including the professional presentation of information/knowledge to our customers and employees to blend Flowers goals with customer/employee goals
Interact with and visit key customer accounts as assigned to build rapport and increase selling opportunities
Maintain close contact with other Market Sales VPs and Retail Team to stay informed on cross-regional activity and to share key success that could contribute to achieving overall sales growth goals
Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Sarbanes – Oxley, Safety, Mandatory Training as assigned, etc.)
Perform other duties which are deemed to be an integral part of the position, including but not limited to using the digital tools, dashboard reports, fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies, and procedures.
Partners with the Human Resources Department to develop a succession plan, employee development, employee engagement and retention.
