About The Position

Centering Healthcare Institute (CHI) is a 25-year old 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to champion and advance the evidence-based Centering group model of care to transform how healthcare is practiced and experienced, empowering healthcare providers and patients to improve health outcomes. CHI partners with approximately 400+ provider organizations across the U.S. to implement and sustain its three Centering group models of care - CenteringPregnancy®, CenteringParenting ®, and CenteringHealthcare ®.

The Vice President of Growth & Strategic Partnerships is a key member of CHI's executive leadership team responsible for driving organizational growth, expanding strategic partnerships, and increasing adoption of the Centering® model across healthcare organizations nationwide. Working closely with the CEO, this leader will oversee business development, philanthropy, and marketing strategies that strengthen CHI's impact, visibility, and financial sustainability.

The ideal candidate combines strong business development expertise with deep healthcare industry knowledge and a proven ability to build relationships with healthcare executives, clinical leaders, payers, funders, and community partners. A clinical degree or licensure is strongly preferred (RN, CNM, NP, PA, MD/DO, MPH with substantial clinical healthcare experience, or a related healthcare credential), as this role requires credibility and clinical insight in conversations with hospitals, health systems, FQHCs, and other provider organizations evaluating clinical transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will be skilled at communicating the clinical, operational, and financial value of Centering®, translating complex healthcare challenges into strategic partnership opportunities and converting those opportunities into long-term collaborations that advance CHI's mission and growth objectives.

Requirements

• 7-10 years of progressive experience in healthcare business development, strategic partnerships, healthcare consulting, health policy, provider relations, population health, clinical operations, or multimillion-dollar revenue-generating roles.
• Demonstrated success selling or developing partnerships with hospitals, health systems, FQHCs, health centers, academic medical centers, payers, government agencies, or healthcare organizations.
• Experience navigating complex healthcare purchasing and contracting processes.
• Proven track record building and managing revenue pipelines and closing strategic partnerships.
• Executive leadership experience with direct reports.
• Strong sales and relationship development experience.
• Experience working within maternal health, public health, women’s health, population health, community health, or healthcare delivery transformation environments is strongly preferred.
• Clinical background or significant experience working within healthcare delivery settings strongly preferred.
• Experience partnering with hospitals, health systems, FQHCs, community health centers, payers, or other healthcare organizations is highly desirable

• Experience working directly in hospitals, health systems, physician practices, community health centers, FQHCs, or other healthcare delivery settings.

• Ability to communicate effectively with both clinical and executive audiences.
• Demonstrated success translating clinical outcomes into compelling business cases and return-on-investment discussions.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute a sales plan that meets or exceeds established sales quotas and supports annual revenue targets.
• Lead a team of National Directors, Managers, and Associates, motivating and developing the team to deliver upon sales plans across their territories.
• Major gifts stewardship, donor engagement, and relationship management
• Meet regularly with existing clients and prospects to understand their evolving business needs and position CHI to meet surfaced needs.
• Build long-term, productive, and mutually beneficial relationships with existing and new national partners.
• Work effectively with internal support departments to promote sales for new and existing clients to maximize scale and sustainability of Centering, and to ensure seamless client experience.
• Plan and execute all CHI external and internal stakeholder meetings according to Development Team Leadership and stewardship standards.
• Attend conferences and professional association meetings to promote CHI and Centering.
• Manage administrative functions to ensure accurate and timely recording of sales activities and performance reports, analyze report data to project trends and build forecasts, and maintain accurate and complete client and prospect databases.
• Serve as a clinical and business ambassador for the Centering® model, communicating its impact on patient outcomes, health equity, workforce capacity, quality metrics, patient engagement, and financial sustainability.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with healthcare leaders, including Chief Medical Officers, Chief Nursing Officers, Medical Directors, clinical champions, health system executives, and FQHC leadership.
• Assess prospective partners' clinical workflows, staffing models, patient populations, implementation readiness, and operational needs to identify high-potential opportunities.
• Lead complex consultative sales processes by aligning Centering® with organizational priorities, quality improvement goals, maternal and child health initiatives, value-based care strategies, and community health objectives.
• Collaborate with implementation and clinical teams to ensure appropriate partner expectations, accurate program design, and successful transitions from contract execution to implementation.
• Apply strong analytical and market trend knowledge to assess health care industry shifts, payor priorities, policy updates or changes, and emerging care delivery challenges that may impact or influence demand for the Centering group care model.
• Compile and translate market insights, client and partner needs, and gap analysis into target areas, segments and partnership opportunities that optimize Centering group potential, implementation success, sustainability, and long term impact.
• Identify provider, patient, community and market challenges such as maternal health, access to care, maternity care deserts, health equity, workforce capacity, and value based care, to determine where CHI can offer meaningful support and close critical gaps.
