About The Position

Visual Matrix is seeking a strategic, hands-on Vice President of Finance to serve as the company's senior finance executive and trusted advisor to the CEO. This role is ideal for an experienced SaaS finance leader who enjoys both strategy and execution. You will own the entire finance function—including accounting, FP&A, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and financial operations—while helping shape the company's long-term strategy and preparing the business for its next stage of growth. As a member of the executive leadership team, you will help build the financial infrastructure necessary to support a modern, data-driven SaaS organization. You will develop scalable processes, improve forecasting accuracy, strengthen financial controls, automate manual workflows, and provide clear financial insights that enable better business decisions. Initially, this role will assess the existing finance organization, determine the appropriate balance between internal resources and external partners, and build the finance function required to support a growing private equity-backed software company. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Requirements

  • Significant finance leadership experience within B2B SaaS or technology businesses.
  • Deep expertise across accounting, FP&A, SaaS metrics, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Successfully partnered with executive teams, Boards of Directors, and private equity investors.
  • Built or transformed finance organizations, improving financial reporting, systems, controls, and operational processes in growing businesses.
  • Both strategic leadership and a hands-on mindset.
  • Outstanding leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Thrive in fast-paced, high-accountability environments.
  • Use modern AI tools responsibly to improve productivity, automate routine work, analyze information, and support better business decisions while exercising sound judgment.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset and consistently demonstrate an "I'll figure it out" approach.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the company's sole finance leader and strategic partner to the CEO, owning both strategic FP&A and the full finance and accounting function.
  • Assess, build, and scale a modern finance organization, determining the right mix of internal talent, external partners, systems, and processes to support the company's next stage of growth.
  • Develop driver-based forecasting models, SaaS KPIs, and executive reporting that improve planning, forecasting accuracy, and business decision-making.
  • Deliver timely, accurate financial reporting and executive- and Board-ready materials that support informed decision-making.
  • Improve financial controls, reporting processes, and finance systems by leveraging automation and AI-enabled workflows to increase efficiency and scalability.
  • Partner with department leaders, the Board, auditors, tax advisors, and private equity stakeholders to support strategic planning, capital allocation, and future transaction readiness.
  • Lead the continued modernization of the finance function, creating scalable processes and infrastructure that enable long-term operational excellence.
