About The Position

The VP of EIS will lead and grow the company’s self-perform mechanical division. This role is responsible for overseeing mechanical estimating, operations, personnel, and financial performance while establishing the processes and structure necessary for a successful division. All activities will be performed in support of the values of Elmington Construction: Integrity, Precision, Growth, Driven, Relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead & develop the company’s self-perform mechanical division
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align mechanical division goals with overall company strategy
  • Partners with senior leadership to assimilate company values, standards, and processes into mechanical operations
  • Recruits, hires, and develops mechanical leadership and workforce
  • Fosters a culture of accountability
  • Leads and oversees mechanical estimating, bid preparation, and scope development for projects where mechanical work will be self-performed, ensuring accurate budgets and alignment with project requirements
  • Collaborates with preconstruction and construction teams to evaluate mechanical scopes and support value engineering
  • Oversee planning & execution of mechanical scopes on company projects
  • Ensure proper manpower planning, sequencing, and productivity tracking
  • Monitors project performance (labor, schedule, cost, QC)
  • Track & monitor labor costs, equipment usage, material procurement, mechanical division profitability
  • Develop & manage division budgets & forecasts
  • Establish relationships with mechanical suppliers & vendors
  • Oversee procurement of major mechanical materials & equipment
  • Establish quality standards & installation expectations for mechanical work
  • Ensure install meets project specifications & code
  • Additional duties as required
