About The Position

The Knight Cancer Corporate Development & Strategic Growth Leader leads Knight Cancer’s growth strategy and capital deployment in partnership with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and the KCG Board. The role oversees the full corporate development lifecycle—including identifying, valuing, structuring, negotiating, and closing acquisitions, affiliations, joint ventures, and partnerships—and optimizes existing collaborative relationships. It also expands the regional and broader cancer-care network through physician alignment, new-site development, and service-line growth. The leader carries strategies through execution by overseeing integration, tracking performance against business cases, and applying lessons to future investments. The position operates in partnership with OHSU and in accordance with established agreements between OHSU and Knight Cancer Group, which provides management, coordination, oversight, and accountability for the Knight Cancer Institute and OHSU’s cancer program. The leader partners with the ELT to develop and execute long-term enterprise growth strategy, translate priorities into market, network, investment, and development roadmaps, and evaluate organic and inorganic opportunities. The role leads strategic and financial business cases, establishes frameworks to evaluate and monitor strategic investments, and supports executive and governance decisions about growth capital and organizational resources. The position directs corporate development transactions from opportunity identification and strategic assessment through valuation, diligence, structuring, negotiation, approval, and closing. It coordinates internal and external financial, legal, regulatory, operational, and clinical resources; maintains a pipeline of opportunities; and represents Knight Cancer in discussions with potential partners and other strategic counterparties. The leader develops strategies to expand the cancer-care network, identifies priority markets and capabilities, builds physician alignment and referral relationships, and integrates ambulatory development, service-line expansion, and new-site opportunities into the broader growth strategy. The role works with clinical and operational leaders to ensure initiatives support clinical, academic, and patient-care objectives. Following approval, the leader translates strategies and transactions into execution plans with defined accountability, milestones, financial objectives, and performance measures. The position oversees integration, monitors results against business cases, and uses lessons learned to inform future decisions. It also assesses and builds the organizational capabilities, talent, analytical resources, governance processes, internal team, and external advisory network needed to deliver Knight Cancer’s growth agenda. As a senior resource to the ELT, the leader participates in broader enterprise planning and builds relationships across Knight Cancer Group, OHSU, clinical leadership, and external stakeholders.
