VP, Enterprise Sales (Expression of Interest)

SubconsciousNew York City, NY
Onsite

About The Position

This is an exploratory conversation for a planned function, not an immediately funded salaried vacancy or a guaranteed start date. No cash salary is available today; any equity arrangement must be agreed separately. The role involves building the enterprise sales engine for a product that helps companies test decisions before committing capital. The individual will personally win early accounts and turn those lessons into a team that can repeat the result. Subconscious is building the intelligence to run the economy, starting with a simulator for business decisions using causal experiments on simulated markets to test products, pricing, messaging, and go-to-market choices before capital is committed. The long-term ambition is to help businesses discover unmet demand and build around what people actually need.

Requirements

  • Personally sourced and closed six-figure enterprise contracts for a technical product and can separate your contribution from that of the team.
  • Built or led a sales function, hired strong sellers, and remained willing to prospect and close yourself.
  • Can navigate technical validation, procurement, legal, security, and executive alignment without promising unsupported capabilities.
  • Evidence of judgment, execution, and leadership.
  • Walk through one enterprise win and one loss: how you sourced the account, qualified the need, navigated the buying process, and what changed your judgment. Exclude confidential customer information. Please do not share confidential employer or customer materials.

Responsibilities

  • Own direct enterprise sales execution, account strategy, qualification, forecasting, and the sales hiring plan.
  • Partner with the GTM + Strategic Partnerships co-founder, whose broader remit includes company commercial strategy and partner channels.
  • Make the handoff between sales and delivery precise.
  • Set the functional roadmap and propose staffing and spending priorities with the founding team.
  • Define a focused account list around business decisions with a budget owner, a time-bound need, and a credible fit for the product.
  • Build opportunities through direct prospecting and discovery; document the buyer, decision, purchase process, risks, and next commitment.
  • Develop paid pilot and enterprise proposals with measurable success criteria and an explicit path to expansion.
  • Create a forecast, loss review, and sales-to-delivery handoff that colleagues can trust.

Benefits

  • Equity-based compensation
