About The Position

As VP Educator Community, you will lead the strategy, execution and growth of our educator community for one of Global Ventures’ flagship events, Bett USA. You will be responsible for identifying, engaging and securing educators to attend our events and participate in our hosted meeting programs and associated programs (such as Table Talks). You will build and nurture strategic relationships across relevant educator ecosystems depending on the event, ensuring we attract senior-level and high-impact participants. This role combines sales leadership, community building and program strategy with a data-driven approach to delivering community and buyer volume, quality and satisfaction. Collaboration is essential, as you will work closely with marketing, content, sales, event operations and product teams to ensure recruitment outcomes meet and exceed expectations. This is a high-impact role within the Global Ventures and Bett USA team.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in community development, audience strategy, business development, account management, acquisition, or other targeted and performance-based roles.
  • Demonstrable experience developing and executing strategic audience, community, or ecosystem programs, ideally within events, media, membership, professional communities, or relevant industry sectors.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with an understanding of how audience quality, community participation, and engagement contribute to customer value, event performance, and sustainable growth.
  • Proven ability to build trusted, long-term relationships with senior executives and strategic enterprise accounts.
  • Strong understanding of acquisition and conversion strategies, with experience managing targeted recruitment programs and delivering against defined audience quality and participation objectives.
  • A strategic thinker who can translate market insight and business objectives into clear community strategies and executable plans.
  • Confident engaging with the C-suite, with the ability to present new ideas from conception through strategy to implementation and measurement.
  • An effective communicator and relationship builder with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong awareness of industry developments and trends, including funding, acquisitions, business performance, emerging organizations, leadership changes, and wider market dynamics.
  • Strong operational discipline, with the ability to establish processes, structures, and ways of working that enable teams to execute effectively and consistently.
  • Self-motivated, inquisitive, and comfortable operating with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth, and entrepreneurial environment, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on delivery when required.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end Educator Community strategy, ensuring the right organizations, senior leaders, and industry stakeholders are represented and actively engaged across our events, communities, and programs.
  • Define and deliver a holistic ecosystem participation strategy, balancing hosted buyer acquisition with wider attendee recruitment, strategic account engagement, community development, and long-term retention to create the strongest possible audience and experience.
  • Lead, develop, and inspire the wider team(s), setting clear objectives where relevant,and building a high-performance culture, and ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery.
  • Develop participation strategies by sector, account, seniority, and geography, identifying the organizations, roles, and individuals required to create a high-value and representative community for each event.
  • Have strategic input into the hosted buyer program, ensuring attendee acquisition delivers against agreed volume, seniority, quality, and commercial objectives while remaining aligned with the broader Educator Community strategy.
  • Build and strengthen strategic relationships with key enterprise accounts and senior industry leaders, acting as a senior ambassador for the business and developing year-round engagement that drives participation, advocacy, retention, and community growth.
  • Create opportunities for deeper engagement across the Educator ecosystem, working beyond individual event attendance to establish long-term relationships and increase participation across relevant events, content, networking, and community initiatives.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Content, Operations, and Attendee Experience leadership to ensure the Educator Community strategy supports the wider proposition, commercial objectives, and overall quality of each event.
  • Work with Content and Marketing to understand the needs, challenges, and priorities of the Educator audience, ensuring these insights inform event propositions, messaging, content development, and engagement strategies.
  • Own the function's daily operating model, including recruitment and engagement processes, reporting, forecasting, CRM governance, technology, messaging, templates, and continuous improvement, enabling effective and scalable delivery.
  • Analyze community composition, participation, recruitment performance, engagement, and market opportunities, using data and insight to identify gaps, refine strategy, and optimize the balance of seniority, vertical, account type, and geography.
  • Establish clear measures of community health and success that extend beyond acquisition volumes, including quality of participation, engagement, retention, account penetration, and contribution to the wider event ecosystem.
  • Identify emerging organizations, leaders, market segments, and industry trends that should be represented within the community, ensuring our events remain relevant and connected to the evolving market.
