About The Position

The Community Outreach Educator with the Calaveras Crisis Center is a part-time role responsible for providing education and resources related to domestic violence and sexual assault to school-aged children, their parents, and community members in Calaveras County. This role involves extensive work with schools in Calaveras County, program development, and presentation. The Educator will maintain clear documentation of all educational presentations and attendance, as well as educational materials. The Calaveras Crisis Center offers services for victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, along with advocacy and counseling for child victims of crime in local schools.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must have at least one-year experience working in the social services and/or education field
  • Ability to pass a criminal record clearance, Live Scan and Child Abuse Index clearance
  • Successful completion of 70 hours of Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Advocacy training
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, attend evening meetings, and travel as required by the organization
  • Valid California driver's license and proof of current automobile insurance coverage

Nice To Haves

  • AA Degree preferred
  • Early Childhood units preferred
