About The Position

Reporting directly to and working closely with the Chief Product Officer, the Vice President, Data & AI Strategy is an executive leader accountable for how Podimetrics uses data, analytics, and AI to improve patient outcomes and scale the business. The role combines leadership of the Data Science and Analytics function with end-to-end ownership of the development and deployment of Podimetrics’ AI-enabled Clinical and Data Platforms — including platform architecture and the software development teams that build and operate them. The VP leads a multidisciplinary organization spanning data science, analytics, and the Clinical and Data Platform software engineering group. The primary objective is to improve patients’ lives by enabling early detection and prevention of diabetic foot complications through trustworthy data, actionable business intelligence, and AI-enabled capabilities that support timely, personalized, and effective care. The VP partners closely with Care Management, Operations, Product, Software Development, and Commercial leaders to define, develop, and deliver solutions that serve multiple stakeholders — from individual patients and clinicians to payers, providers, and the executive team.

Requirements

  • Degree/Advanced degree (Preferred) in Business, Healthcare, Technology, Computer Science, and/or Data Science.
  • 12+ years’ applied experience across healthcare operations, health insurance, data analytics, data science, and/or software/platform development, with meaningful exposure to regulated healthcare environments.
  • 6+ years’ experience in a senior leadership role managing multidisciplinary technical teams (data science, analytics, and/or software engineering), including leaders of leaders, preferably in a startup or high-growth environment.
  • Demonstrated experience owning platform architecture and the delivery of production data and/or AI-enabled software platforms at scale.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL, Python, BigQuery, GCP, and modern data/analytics tooling, as well as software development and ML deployment practices.
  • Experience in preparing relevant presentation materials and providing periodic business and/or investor updates at an executive or board level.
  • Experience driving organizational change with a keen focus on performance improvement and delivery accountability.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with operational leaders, senior executives, and cross-functional partners.
  • Proven track record of successfully attracting, developing, and leading high-performing teams across both analytics and software engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute Podimetrics’ enterprise data and AI strategy, aligning investment, architecture, and delivery to the company’s mission and growth objectives.
  • Own the development and deployment of the AI-enabled Clinical and Data Platforms, including platform architecture, software development, data engineering, model development and deployment, and ongoing operations.
  • Lead the Clinical and Data Platform software engineering group, setting technical direction, delivery standards, and engineering culture in partnership with broader Product and Engineering leadership.
  • Build relationships with senior-level operations and commercial leadership to understand multifaceted business problems and develop analytical and platform solutions to complex issues.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with peers to solve problems, with hands-on ability to execute, and not just lead.
  • Build and continuously monitor reports, dashboards, and analytics products to track key healthcare quality, efficiency, and operational metrics.
  • Review policies for value-based programs, synthesize the information, and communicate the implications to our markets and executive leadership.
  • Define business and technical requirements for platform, database, and system development, and ensure architectural decisions are sound, scalable, and consistent with regulatory, security, and privacy requirements (including HIPAA).
  • Partner with Analytics leaders and peers, and with operational customers, to understand business problems, elicit requirements, develop analysis and reporting roadmaps, and deliver results according to plan while meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  • Maintain a clear focus on delivering actionable insights and AI-enabled capabilities that help operational customers deliver better care, improve patient outcomes, and lower unnecessary costs and utilization.
  • Define and communicate a clear, compelling vision for the team that aligns with Podimetrics' mission and vision.
  • Provide leadership, motivation, coaching, feedback, and support to encourage and strengthen the development of an effective, high-performing, multidisciplinary team spanning data science, analytics, and software engineering.
  • Lead change through effective communication, explaining the connection and value to the organization while understanding the impact on the team to obtain commitment.
  • Serve as an executive-level representative for data, analytics, and AI with the board, investors, customers, and partners as needed.
