About The Position

Robert Half, one of FORTUNE’s World’s Most Admired Companies and a Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For is hiring a VP, Communications & Editorial Strategy to join the Corporate Communications department. We are seeking a strategic and forward-looking communications leader to help shape and scale the company’s external influence, thought leadership, and engagement strategy in an increasingly digital and AI-driven landscape. Reporting to the SVP of Corporate Communications, this role will serve as a senior leader within the Corporate Communications organization and help drive the evolution of how Robert Half builds authority, credibility, visibility, and engagement across earned, owned, and social channels. The role will oversee key external communications functions including thought leadership, multimedia storytelling, social media and emerging influence/discoverability initiatives, while partnering closely with Marketing teams to strengthen audience engagement and AI-era discoverability. This leader will play a critical role in positioning Robert Half as the leading voice on work, talent, hiring and workplace trends globally. The ideal candidate is a strategic communications leader who understands how reputation, thought leadership, social engagement, discoverability, and executive visibility increasingly work together to shape brand authority and business impact. They bring a blend of communications leadership, editorial judgment, digital fluency, audience understanding, and cross-functional collaboration — along with the ability to help modernize how organizations build influence and engagement in an AI-driven environment.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience across corporate communications, external communications, social media, thought leadership, content strategy, or related fields.
  • Proven experience leading high-performing communications, editorial, social, or external engagement teams.
  • Strong understanding of evolving digital engagement, social media, reputation management, and thought leadership trends.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Marketing, Digital, Brand, SEO, and executive leadership teams.
  • Strong executive presence and strategic communications capabilities.
  • Ability to balance long-term brand authority with fast-moving digital engagement opportunities.
  • Experience operating in complex, matrixed, global organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Help Lead and Evolve the Corporate Communications Function: Serve as a senior member of the Corporate Communications leadership team and strategic partner to the SVP of Corporate Communications. Help shape department strategy, operating priorities, organizational evolution, and cross-functional integration. Drive enterprise messaging alignment and external reputation initiatives. Support development of integrated communications strategies that strengthen Robert Half’s authority, credibility, and visibility globally.
  • Lead Thought Leadership, Editorial & Multimedia Storytelling Strategy: Drive enterprise thought leadership and editorial strategy across social, editorial, multimedia, executive visibility, and external engagement channels. Expand Robert Half’s authority and visibility on topics related to work, hiring, talent, AI, workplace trends, and business transformation. Develop differentiated research programs and data-driven thought leadership initiatives that strengthen Robert Half’s authority in the marketplace. Help shape integrated external storytelling approaches that connect earned, owned, and social channels. Help evolve storytelling formats and audience engagement strategies across written, visual, video, and social-native content. Encourage innovative, audience-centric storytelling approaches that strengthen brand relevance and external engagement. Ensure thought leadership supports both business priorities and long-term reputation and authority building. Enhance Robert Half’s strategic multimedia storytelling capability to support both internal and external engagement and influence objectives. Oversee development of modern video, livestream, webinar, podcast, virtual event, and digital storytelling capabilities designed to support external visibility, executive thought leadership and audience engagement.
  • Oversee Organic Social Media & Engagement Strategy: Lead the company’s organic social media strategy and evolution across platforms. Continue expanding executive visibility, employee advocacy and social engagement programs. Ensure social content balances brand consistency with social-native relevance and engagement. Oversee community engagement, online reputation, and emerging digital influence initiatives. Monitor evolving social platform behaviors, audience engagement trends, and AI-driven discovery shifts.
  • Build Digital Reputation & Community Management Program: Develop strategies that strengthen Robert Half’s visibility and representation across AI-generated discovery experiences and emerging search ecosystems. Oversee the company’s presence and engagement approach across influential third-party ecosystems including review platforms, Reddit, peer communities and emerging digital discussion environments. Use insights from CX to inform strategies that improve online reputation signals, credibility indicators, ratings health and audience sentiment across candidate, client, and employer channels. Identify emerging opportunities and risks tied to AI-generated content, online discourse, and evolving influence platforms.
