About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the CEO, the VP and Chief Communications Officer works to oversee all high level development projects. The VP and CCO will handle cultivating donors and fundraising projects both annual and all special events, will speak in the community on behalf of VOA, develop relationships, press releases, and oversee internal communications for the agency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills especially in publishing and editing
  • Working knowledge of AI.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all Social Media posts.
  • Oversee all internal communications.
  • Coordinate with Director of Development for Board fundraising, projects and tours
  • Special events marketing: Employee Giving Campaign, Holiday projects and United Way campaigns.
  • Solicit sponsorships for annual fundraising event.
  • New Employee Orientation
  • Identify and schedules speaking opportunities for CEO and VP and CCO
  • Develop press releases
  • Point of contact for all media relations
  • Cultivate volunteer groups: National Charity League/LSU/Credit Union/Junior League
  • Oversee all Branding initiatives.
  • Implement a plan for state and national legislative engagement. Works with legislative staff at other LA affiliates
  • Promote and coordinate efforts to raise funds via the Workforce Child Care Tax Credit.
