About The Position

Work Schedule: This is a full time position, scheduled Monday through Friday with core business hours between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The role is hybrid, with a regular need to work onsite in Madison, WI to support organizational priorities. Off hours availability may be required. Be part of something remarkable UW Health is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and influential nursing executive to serve as Vice President, Ambulatory Chief Nursing Officer and Nursing Support Services. In this role, you will: Advance nursing quality and safety; ambulatory and inpatient coordinated care; emergency education and clinical simulation; nursing professional development and patient education. Play a critical role in bridging communication across ambulatory and inpatient teams, and fostering strong partnerships with physicians, nursing, patient care services, the School of Nursing, and ancillary departments. To be a respected change agent with the ability to navigate complex, sometimes challenging environments with confidence, clarity, and influence. Have a strong foundation in financial acumen and the business of nursing is essential, with a focus on improving staffing strategies and enterprise wide understanding of nursing operations.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing Required
  • Seven (7) years of progressively responsible management or supervisory level experience in ambulatory nursing or a nursing support services function Required
  • Registered Nurse, Licensed in State of Wisconsin or eligible to apply for a Wisconsin nursing license Required

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate in a related field Preferred
  • Experience with an academic medical center Preferred
  • Recognized certification in nursing leadership or administration Preferred
