About The Position

Vote Blue is a field firm specializing in face-to-face canvassing operations. At Vote Blue, we mobilize voters to get to the polls. Our field campaigns have provided the margin of victory in close elections at the local, state, and national levels. We are hiring Field Directors to manage our offices in Henderson, NV. The Field Director will recruit, train, and manage a team of local canvassers to contact voters on reproductive rights. They will work within the director team to build an office to scale from the ground up. The Field Director is expected to train voter contact canvassers in the field while canvassing themselves to lead by example; they must also communicate long and short-term goals to staff and manage campaign reporting. The Field Director manages canvassers and Team Leads and reports to the Lead Director. Additionally, the Lead Campaign Director will manage a team of one or more Deputy Directors and will be responsible for building an office to scale from the ground up. The Lead Director position reports to the Project Director, and the Deputy Director position reports to the Lead Director. We're working to ensure that everyone can live, thrive, and raise families in healthy communities. When people can make decisions about their own reproductive health care, they have more control over their economic security, their health and well-being, and can build the future they see for themselves. Politicians have no business interfering with private health care decisions. We're fighting to stop this government intrusion and put the power back in the hands of the people.

Requirements

Leadership experience; ability to motivate, grow, and manage a large team
Eagerness to lead from the front and canvass several days a week
Extreme attention to detail and a proven ability to instill that quality in others
Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills
Strong passion for community organizing and fostering civic engagement
Track record of equity and inclusion
Ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends

Nice To Haves

Experience running paid canvasses or managing paid employees
Familiarity with VAN and MiniVAN
Experience working in underserved or marginalized communities
Facilitation experience
Local knowledge/experience
Experience in and/or passion for reproductive rights

Responsibilities

Manage a team of 40–60 hourly staff who will canvass door to door to talk to voters about reproductive rights
Canvass yourself several days a week to train staff and drive office goals
Set goals and hold staff accountable to them
Train and provide ongoing motivation and support to staff
Identify, promote, and train a leadership team
Build a diverse team where staff feel respected while fostering a culture of equity and justice
Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity of the work
Maintain a healthy and safe working environment for all staff
Develop strategic plans to reach targeted voters in assigned locations
Manage administrative duties, including reporting data, record keeping, processing payroll, and distribution of materials
