About The Position

The Outreach Team is a premier national field firm partnering with organizations working to solve significant societal problems, such as defending reproductive rights. They are a people-powered enterprise that believes effective campaigns are built by diverse, talented teams who are invested in and treated well. This role involves recruiting, training, and managing local canvassers to engage Nevada voters directly and build political power within the community. The Field Director will be instrumental in establishing a new office, leading by example through field canvassing and staff training, communicating goals, and managing campaign reporting. The position requires managing canvassers and Team Leads, reporting to the Lead Director.

Requirements

  • Leadership experience; ability to motivate, grow, and manage a large team.
  • Eagerness to lead from the front and canvass several days a week.
  • Extreme attention to detail and a proven ability to instill that quality in others.
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong passion for community organizing and fostering civic engagement.
  • Track record of equity and inclusion.
  • Ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience running paid canvasses or managing paid employees.
  • Familiarity with VAN and MiniVAN.
  • Experience working in underserved or marginalized communities.
  • Facilitation experience.
  • Local knowledge/experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 40–60 hourly staff who will canvass door to door to talk to voters about defending reproductive rights.
  • Canvass yourself several days a week to train staff and drive office goals.
  • Set goals and hold staff accountable to them.
  • Train and provide ongoing motivation and support to staff.
  • Identify, promote, and train a leadership team.
  • Build a diverse team where staff feel respected while fostering a culture of equity and justice.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity of the work.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe working environment for all staff.
  • Develop strategic plans to reach targeted voters in assigned locations.
  • Manage administrative duties, including reporting data, record keeping, processing payroll, and distribution of materials.
