About The Position

The City of La Palma Police Department is seeking dedicated community members to participate in its Volunteers in Policing (VIPs) Program. The La Palma VIPs are a dedicated group of volunteers who donate more than 3,200 hours of service to the City of La Palma each year. By pooling their talents, knowledge, and abilities, VIPs donate their time to assist the Police Department in providing a higher level of service to our community. VIPs support the Police Department in a variety of non-enforcement duties, including field patrol and administrative assistance at the Police Station. Their presence helps enhance public safety, provides valuable support to Department operations, and strengthens the cooperative partnership between the Police Department and the community. The primary goals of the VIP Program are to: Enhance the Department's cooperative partnership with the community by bringing citizens directly into the organization. Provide La Palma with an increased level of service.

Responsibilities

Assist the Police Department in providing a higher level of service to the community.
Support the Police Department in a variety of non-enforcement duties, including field patrol and administrative assistance at the Police Station.
