About The Position
AdvisaCare Hospice is seeking compassionate and dependable people to volunteer their time to be there for our hospice patients. This is an opportunity to make a difference in the world. No healthcare experience is needed, and volunteers must be 18 years or older. Volunteers will serve in their local areas. Hospice does not accept court-ordered service hours.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Willing to submit to TB and Drug Tests
- Willing to be Fingerprinted
Nice To Haves
- Licensed dogs for pet therapy
Responsibilities
- Sitting bedside with hospice patients in nursing facilities
- Providing caregiver relief inside private residences
- Pet therapy (with already licensed dogs) to visit with patients
- Playing the guitar bedside of hospice patients
- Providing bereavement volunteer support calls to family
- Assisting with grief groups
- Pre-med students wanting to learn about gerontology patient care
- Grief support (remote)
