About The Position
AdvisaCare Hospice is seeking compassionate and dependable individuals to volunteer their time to support our hospice patients. This is a non-paid volunteer opportunity where you can make a difference in the lives of those in need. No healthcare experience is required, and volunteers must be 18 years or older. Volunteers will serve in their local areas.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Willing to submit to TB and Drug Tests.
- Willing to be Fingerprinted.
Nice To Haves
- Already licensed dogs for pet therapy visits.
Responsibilities
- Sit bedside with hospice patients in nursing facilities.
- Provide caregiver relief in private residences.
- Conduct pet therapy visits with licensed dogs.
- Play guitar bedside for hospice patients.
- Provide bereavement volunteer support calls to families.
- Assist with grief groups.
- Support pre-med students interested in gerontology patient care.
- Provide remote grief support.
