About The Position

LifeWise Academy seeks volunteers to assist children in its LifeWise classes. LifeWise Academy is a Bible-based character education program that exists to reach public school students with the gospel during school hours. Volunteers support classroom activities, student relationships, classroom management, and student supervision.

Requirements

• A mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the “What We Believe” section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Active participation in and commitment to a local church whose doctrine aligns with the “What We Believe” section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.

Responsibilities

• Model positive behavior and godly character, and set an example for classroom behavior.
• Actively listen during Bible lessons and participate in classroom activities.
• Develop relationships with students by learning their names, getting to know them, and chatting with them during activities.
• Assist with classroom management as needed or directed, including supporting the teacher with students who behave inappropriately, reminding students of desired behavior, and relocating a student to another desk if the behavior continues.
• Help with classroom activities, including distributing supplies such as pencils, pens, crayons, Bibles, and papers, and helping lead class games.
• Sit with and provide extra help to students with special needs.
• Escort students to the restroom and wait outside while the student is inside.
• Chaperone children to and from LifeWise classes as needed.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
