About The Position

LifeWise Academy seeks volunteers to assist children in its Bible-based character education classes. The program reaches public school students with the gospel during school hours. Volunteers support the teacher, help with classroom activities and management, and build relationships with students.

Requirements

• Have a mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the “What We Believe” section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Actively participate in and be committed to a local church whose doctrine aligns with the “What We Believe” section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.

Responsibilities

• Model positive behavior and godly character, and set an example for classroom behavior.
• Actively listen during Bible lessons and participate in classroom activities.
• Learn students’ names and get to know them; interact with students during activities by sitting nearby or walking around and chatting.
• Assist with classroom management as needed or directed, including supporting students who behave inappropriately, reminding them of expected behavior, sitting or standing next to them, and relocating them to another desk if the behavior continues.
• Assist with classroom activities by distributing supplies such as pencils, pens, crayons, Bibles, and papers.
• Help lead class games.
• Sit with and provide extra help to students with special needs.
• Escort students to the restroom and wait outside while they are inside.
• Chaperone children to and from LifeWise classes as needed.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
