About The Position

LifeWise Academy seeks volunteers to assist children in LifeWise classes. LifeWise Academy is a Bible-based character education program that reaches public school students with the gospel during school hours. Volunteers support classroom activities, student relationships, and classroom management, and may chaperone children to and from classes as needed. Other responsibilities may be assigned.

Requirements

• A mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the “What We Believe” section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Active participation in and commitment to a local church whose doctrine aligns with the “What We Believe” section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.

Responsibilities

• Model positive behavior and godly character, and set an example for classroom behavior.
• Actively listen during Bible lessons and participate in classroom activities.
• Develop relationships with students by learning their names, getting to know them, and conversing with them during activities.
• Assist with classroom management as needed or directed, including supporting students who behave inappropriately, reminding them of desired behavior, sitting or standing beside them, and relocating them to another desk if needed.
• Help with classroom activities, including distributing classroom supplies and Bibles and helping lead class games.
• Sit with and provide extra help to students with special needs.
• Escort students to the restroom and stand outside while they are inside.
• Chaperone children to and from LifeWise classes as needed.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
