About The Position

Crescent Hospice is seeking volunteers to support its mission-driven, patient-centered end-of-life care. Volunteers may contribute through administrative and organizational tasks, patient companionship, certified pet therapy, music, or support for veteran patients. Volunteers are not paid employees and receive no compensation for their time.

• Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and deep respect for individuals and their unique journeys.

• Pass background check requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Pet therapy volunteers must have a certified and vaccinated pet.
• Musical gifts are relevant to the musician volunteer opportunity.
• Veteran experience is relevant to the veteran volunteer opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and organizational support, including light data entry, assembling packets, and sending cards to family members.
• Organize special memories for patients and sew memory bears or blankets.
• Visit patients to offer companionship and give caregivers a break through activities such as reading, hobbies, games, and listening.
• Visit patients with a certified, vaccinated therapy pet to provide joy and emotional support.
• Share music to bring comfort to patients and healthcare staff.
• Connect with fellow veterans, provide companionship, and participate in meaningful ceremonies supporting and honoring veteran patients.
