About The Position
Victim Advocates are equipped to deal with difficulties like trauma, domestic violence, sexual assault, robberies, or unattended deaths. While on scene advocates offer comfort to victims, assistance to the officers, and referrals to community resources. Applicants need to be available to attend the full training academy. The training academy is anticipated to begin in September 2026. The training academy takes place over 3-4 weeks, including two evenings per week, as well as one full day session on a Saturday.
Requirements
- Pass a comprehensive background check, including CVSA and fingerprints
- Complete the 35-hour Victim Advocate Training Academy
- Go on a ride-along with a Police Officer
- Shadow an experienced victim advocate
- Have reliable transportation and current insurance
- Be at least 21 years old

Responsibilities
- Offer comfort to victims

- Serve a minimum of four 12-hour on-call shifts per month
- Attend a two-hour educational/debriefing meeting each month
- Commit to a minimum of one year of service
