About The Position

Under the supervision and direction of the Director of Volunteer Services of SFHS, the Coordinator is responsible for the placement, training, supervision, and retention of all non-paid staff and for the functioning and maintenance of the Volunteer Services Department. Experience working with youth is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will be comfortable engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including students, leadership, and clinical staff. This role requires strong organizational and multitasking abilities, excellent cross-generational communication skills, and confidence in presenting to diverse audiences. We are seeking a creative, positive team player who is a strategic, forward-thinking professional focused on program growth and stewardship. A consistent and reliable work history is expected, along with a strong alignment to Saint Francis Health System’s values and culture.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2 - 5 years related experience required.
  • Experience in volunteer management preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other applications as needed for office management.
  • Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to integrate the analysis of data to discover facts or develop knowledge, concepts or interpretations.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Working knowledge of applicable standards and legal issues regarding volunteer utilization.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with youth is highly preferred.
  • College level courses preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Motivate, recognize and retain Volunteers who exemplify the mission, vision and values of SFHS.
  • Serve as an advocate for the unpaid staff and demonstrate a personal commitment to the efforts of each Volunteer.
  • Develop, implement and monitor all levels of Volunteer training and continuing education.
  • Assess staff/facility needs and develop a comprehensive plan for the effective utilization of Volunteers.
  • Screen, interview, orient and facilitate the placement of qualified Volunteers.
  • Prepare monthly reports.
  • Maintain accurate personnel records, policies and procedures in compliance with HR and TJC standards.
  • Plan agenda and prepare minutes for volunteer advisory board meetings and quarterly general meetings.
