About The Position

We are seeking motivated and compassionate Housing Support Volunteers to support individuals on their recovery and housing journey. Volunteers will help provide practical and emotional support, promote independent living, and assist people to engage with housing‑related services and wellbeing support. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive difference within local communities while gaining valuable experience in housing and support services. Successful applicants will be required to attend training in June, which will prepare volunteers for the role and provide the knowledge and skills needed to offer effective housing‑related support.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Kind, open-minded, and passionate about supporting people.
• Willingness to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an enhanced level.

Nice To Haves

• No special qualifications are needed for most volunteer opportunities.
• Personal experience of drug and alcohol recovery is not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical and emotional support to individuals on their recovery and housing journey.
• Promote independent living.
• Assist people to engage with housing-related services and wellbeing support.
• Contribute to Change Grow Live in a variety of ways, such as Admin Volunteers, Service User Reps, Peer Mentors, Healthcare Support Volunteers, Independent Visitors, or Community Mentors.
• Express interest if there isn’t a specific volunteering role listed for the service in your area, or if you have a skill you would like to donate.
