About The Position

This position supports the Volunteer Engagement department by helping manage the volunteers who support JA North educational experiences. This position, in coordination with the Volunteer Engagement Team, supports the pre, during and post onsite experience of volunteers, as well as volunteer recruitment materials, Volunteer Hub data entry, communication and surveys. In addition, this position will provide support to staff for building and maintaining volunteer engagement.

Requirements

  • Must qualify for Federal or State Work Study.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, work ethic and a flexible and non-judgmental approach toward diverse populations.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail, time management and ability to act effectively and think creatively.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in word processing, database management and spreadsheet applications.
  • Exhibit polite and professional communication via phone, email and mail.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take initiatives when the need arises.
  • Ability to contribute to a positive organizational culture.
  • Must be able to sit, walk, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, bend, lift, or climb.
  • Must be able to lift and carry light weights (25-50 pounds).
  • Specific vision abilities include: close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust or focus.

Responsibilities

  • Support welcoming and check in process for onsite volunteer experiences.
  • Support front desk, welcoming and signing in visitors, answering phones, and accepting deliveries.
  • Support managing records and information relating to school and volunteer activities.
  • Ensure the volunteer experience is positive.
  • Data entry and admin duties as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
