We’re looking for a Volunteer Engagement Coordinator to help mobilize and support volunteers serving through our Local Compassion & Justice initiatives. In this role, you’ll play a key part in creating experiences where volunteers feel equipped, valued, and inspired—while helping deliver programs that support individuals and families working toward long-term stability. You’ll sit at the intersection of people and process—making sure both are working at their best. This isn’t just about filling volunteer roles—it’s about creating pathways for people to use their gifts to serve others with dignity and care. Your work will directly contribute to building stronger communities and helping people take meaningful steps forward.

Requirements

Experience coordinating volunteers, programs, or teams (church, nonprofit, or similar environment)
Strong organizational and project management skills—you can juggle details without losing sight of the big picture
A natural ability to connect with people, communicate clearly, and build trust
A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset—you don’t wait for problems, you solve them

Responsibilities

Lead the volunteer journey from onboarding to placement, ensuring a smooth, organized, and welcoming experience
Create engaging orientations and training that set volunteers up for success
Build relationships with volunteers, helping them find the right opportunities and stay connected
Coordinate and execute programs like Care Teams, Resource Days, and other community initiatives
Partner with staff and community organizations to expand impact and strengthen programs
Track participation and outcomes to continuously improve how we serve
