About The Position

Sound Generations is a non-profit organization serving older adults and people with disabilities in King County. The Meals on Wheels Volunteer Coordinator will support the recruitment, training, and management of over 300 volunteers across 20 sites. This role involves building relationships with volunteers, staff, and community partners to ensure participants receive nutritious meals and social connections.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree OR Equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years' experience working or volunteering in social and human services or related field.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, on-board, and train program volunteers. Conduct and screen volunteer background checks.
• Regularly conduct site visits and build relationships with leaders of partner sites throughout King County.
• Coordinate and monitor program activities in relation to established program goals and within established program parameters.
• Direct the work of others and/or coordinate services of volunteers. Fill in as a Site Coordinator or other volunteer position as needed.
• Prepare training and/or promotional materials.
• Maintain customer relationship management database with volunteer contacts.
• Provide information and technical assistance to volunteers, staff, and program participants regarding program content, policies, and activities.
• Conduct research and analyze data to identify program needs and volunteer eligibility for continued program participation.
• Attend meetings and/or events as program representative.
• Troubleshoot complaints from clients or staff about volunteers.
• Plan and execute volunteer appreciation events and/or initiatives.
• Perform the work of lower classified positions.
