About The Position

Denver International Airport (DEN) is hiring a PART-TIME Volunteer Coordinator to join their team. This role is responsible for supporting the Volunteer Program Manager in overseeing DEN's Ambassador Volunteer Program, Teen Navigator Program, and Canine Airport Therapy Squad (CATS). The position involves managing daily volunteer operations, tracking volunteer hours and engagement data, and handling administrative tasks related to volunteer recruitment, training, and ongoing development. The role also supports volunteer recognition events and collects feedback to enhance program quality.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
  • Three (3) years of full performance office support/clerical work (type and level of an Administrative Support Assistant III).
  • Valid Driver's License at the time of application.
  • FBI criminal background check is required.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic work environment, under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain processes, procedures, and information to volunteer staff.
  • Experience with administrative tasks, ability to handle multiple projects and help keep processes organized and tracked.
  • Strong presentation skills including ability to develop presentations and present to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to walk and be on your feet for long periods of time if needed and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Must have valid work authorization that does not require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Tracking, documenting, and reporting of volunteer hours and engagement data.
  • Completing administrative tasks tied to the recruitment and training of new volunteers in the Ambassador and CATS Program.
  • Providing enhanced training opportunities to existing volunteers through briefings, developing additional training, tours, and monthly meetings.
  • Explaining policies, processes, applicable laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines specific to a program to volunteers.
  • Learning and using the online volunteer database called Engage Denver for tracking time, managing schedules, developing trainings, running reports and sending volunteer communications.
  • Monitoring, responding to, and prioritizing daily emails and inquiries.
  • Resolving problems, functioning as an information clearinghouse for program questions, and providing information and advice to current and potential program participants on program requirements.
  • Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the volunteers are supporting the overall DEN operation.
  • Following up on any action items as needed.
  • Resolving problems encountered during daily operations and determining appropriate solutions.
  • Drafting, formatting, and distributing professional presentations, reports, and correspondence.
  • Assisting with the recruitment process which includes hosting open houses, conducting interviews, facilitating background checks and conducting training orientation whether in person or digitally and overall tracking of onboarding steps in a digital database.
  • Maintaining organized electronic and physical filing systems for volunteer and program data.
  • Updating and managing program databases and spreadsheets for quick information retrieval including utilizing OneNote.
  • Developing continuing education training for the volunteers and presenting and sharing the training across the volunteer program.
  • Supporting the planning and execution of large-scale volunteer recognition events and meetings, which could include soliciting donations, managing invitations and RSVPs, and logistical support for events.
  • Collecting and sharing feedback from the volunteers through multiple sources to gather information on the quality of the program and volunteer satisfaction.
  • Contributing to the development of the performance enhancement plan, documenting performance of volunteers and providing performance feedback.
  • Participating at DEN and off-site events to promote the programs within the community and support local events.
  • Assisting with duties as assigned which can include supporting the Customer Service Department or other DEN operations.
