About The Position

The Volunteer Coordinator sets Children’s leaders up to win by walking them through the leader placement process, volunteer onboarding, managing weekend schedules and providing ongoing support. This role collaborates with the Lexington Children's team to create irresistible environments for families that lead kids to Jesus, build trust with parents and empower leaders to serve. The position involves assisting with the recruiting process for new Children's Ministry volunteer leaders, scheduling weekly volunteers, managing Planning Center, processing potential volunteers, and ensuring environments are stocked and prepared for weekend services. The role also includes conducting volunteer interviews, serving every Sunday to oversee and support weekend Children's Ministry environments, assisting with special events, and collaborating with Children's Teams across campuses to problem-solve and improve effectiveness. Additionally, the Volunteer Coordinator supports the Lexington Campus Team by building relationships, attending meetings, serving at events, and participating in church care.

Responsibilities

Walks through the leader placement process with Children's leaders.
Onboards volunteers.
Manages weekend schedules for volunteers.
Provides ongoing support to Children's leaders.
Collaborates with the Lexington Children's team to create irresistible environments for families.
Assists with the recruiting process for new Children's Ministry volunteer leaders.
Schedules weekly volunteers for preschool and elementary Children's Ministry environments.
Monitors volunteer coverage for each Sunday.
Manages Planning Center (adds new leaders, tracks placement process, sends serve requests).
Processes potential preschool and elementary volunteers and tracks their progress through the application, interview, screening, safety, and training process.
Works with the Lexington children’s team to unpack monthly curriculum supplies.
Works with the Lexington children’s team to ensure environments are stocked with supplies and prepared for weekend services.
Conducts preschool and elementary volunteer interviews.
Serves every Sunday overseeing and supporting weekend Children's Ministry environments.
Assists with planning and leading ministry-specific special events.
Collaborates with the Children’s Team across campuses to help problem-solve and become more effective at serving leaders and families.
Supports the Lexington Campus Team by building relationships across departments, attending campus meetings, serving at campus-wide events, and participating in the care of the church.
