About The Position

As a Senior VOIP Engineer, you will oversee all aspects of VoIP, including developing resilient telephony environments, implementing VoIP Zero Trust Architecture, and integrating advanced voice and video telephony solutions. You will help right-size staff, prioritize tasks, and ensure operational excellence across the VoIP infrastructure. The role includes leading the development of telephony environments for remote work and advanced technologies, evaluating VoIP processes and infrastructure, and designing and implementing VoIP and IPv6 architectures. You will oversee voice and video telephony solutions, configure conference room capabilities, collaborate with SIP providers, and perform operations and maintenance to support system functionality and security. You will also mentor engineers and serve as a subject matter expert. The position may require extended, irregular, or non-standard hours for mission-critical duties, as well as travel to client sites for assessments and service delivery.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent relevant experience.
At least 7 years of experience in VoIP engineering or a related role.
At least 2 years of experience in a leadership position.
Expert-level knowledge of telephony environments, routing, and dial plans.
Strong understanding of network protocols, security principles, and VoIP architectures.
Proven record of implementing VoIP solutions in enterprise environments.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and drive projects to completion.
Demonstrated excellent customer service.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and foster collaboration among colleagues.
Self-directed, results-oriented, and flexible; able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Reliable transportation for client-site visits.

Relevant certifications such as CCNA Voice, CCNP Voice, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Lead the development of resilient telephony environments for remote work and advanced technologies.
Evaluate VoIP business processes, software and applications, and infrastructure.
Develop and implement VoIP and IPv6 architectures.
Oversee the replacement, upgrade, design, and integration of voice and video telephony solutions.
Configure and deploy IP voice and video conference room capabilities.
Collaborate with SIP providers on number allocation, SIP trunking, and security assessments.
Perform routine operations and maintenance to support 24/7 functionality and system security.
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.
Serve as a subject matter expert on VoIP technologies and best practices.
Prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and drive projects to completion.
Visit client sites, conduct on-site assessments, and ensure service delivery.
