About The Position

This position involves teaching individual applied study in an alternative (non-classical) curriculum for contemporary students in MU396C-496C, providing 8 half-hour lessons per term (16 lessons per year). Additionally, it includes 600 minutes of individual tuition and group instruction on a major instrument for two semesters in MUPS182/282D. The term for this appointment is Fall 2026 – Winter 2027. The scheduled class times are Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. and/or Thursdays from 4:00 p.m. to 5:20 p.m., and Fridays from 1:00 p.m. to 2:20 p.m. Individual lessons will be scheduled in consultation with the students. The mode of delivery is in-person. The anticipated class size and hours per week/total hours are to be determined, subject to enrollment.

Requirements

  • Master’s in Music Performance, or professional experience equivalent to the level of a MM in Performance, with recognition by the music industry or by professional peers; and/or Advanced Diploma, Graduate Diploma, or other advanced credential.
  • Training, credentials and experience in vocal physiology, anatomy, and acoustics.
  • A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in CCM and Musical Theatre.

Responsibilities
