About The Position
This position involves teaching individual applied study in an alternative (non-classical) curriculum for contemporary students in MU396C-496C, where students receive 8 half-hour lessons per term (16 lessons per year). Additionally, it includes providing 600 minutes of individual tuition and group instruction on a major instrument for two semesters in MUPS142/242D. The term for this position is Fall 2026 – Winter 2027. The scheduled days and times are Tuesdays from 4:00 PM to 5:20 PM and Fridays from 1:00 PM to 2:20 PM. Individual lessons will be scheduled in consultation with the students. The hours per week and total hours are to be determined and are subject to enrollment. The mode of delivery is in-person.
Requirements
- Masters of Music in Performance or professional experience equivalent to the level of a MM in Performance, with recognition by the music industry or professional peers; and/or Advanced Diploma, Graduate Diploma, or other advanced credential.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in one on one studio instruction.
- 5 years performance experience in Contemporary Commercial Music.
- Demonstrated experience in coaching.

- Evidence of student success (acceptance to university music programs, awards at competitions/festivals).
- National/International performance profile as a soloist and/or collaborative and innovative interdisciplinary artist or composer-performer.
Responsibilities
