About The Position

The primary responsibilities include the preparation of daily living/work activities and other duties providing for a smooth work training environment for developmentally disabled adults. This role involves representing the organization positively, maintaining documentation, and providing direct training and assistance to consumers with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency required.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Must have a valid MS Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Represents Region 8 and Region 8 Administration in a positive manner at all times both internally and externally.
  • Always leads by example and is a positive role model for coworkers.
  • Maintains documentation as evidence that all duties are completed in accordance with program requirements contained in the Department of Mental Health Operational Standards.
  • Maintains proper training, continuing education, qualifications, and other certifications required for this position as written in the Department of Mental Health Operational Standards.
  • Provides supervision, training, instruction and assistance to consumers with intellectual and developmental disabilities on a daily basis in areas of living skills, pre-vocational skills and work training.
  • Inspects, inventories and maintains equipment and supplies used in assigned areas.
  • Makes estimates of time and materials required for assigned work area.
  • Transports consumers with intellectual and developmental disabilities to and from the center to home and planned activities as needed.
  • Performs routine paperwork and documentation as assigned.
  • All other duties as assigned by Supervisors.
