Position Summary: Vocational Supporters perform a variety of functions related to vocational rehabilitation. Functions may include roles such as supervising vocational employees in the drop-in center, ensuring efficient daily market operation, events planning and execution, providing customer service, milieu management and similar activities. Responsible for rehabilitation activities which support consumers who want social interaction, engagement, or skills development.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have graduated successfully from 1 vocational trainee position at the WellPower Resource Center
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Peer Specialist Certification within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work with people we serve with severe and persistent mental illness.
  • Must understand people from all walks of life and be able to communicate with them while being strength based.
  • Participate in pre-vocational partial care services and complete reporting pertaining to program measurable outcomes.
  • Regularly and appropriately interacting with community members, clinical teams, care givers, staff.
  • Ability to give, receive, analyze information, formulate work plans, prepare written materials and articulate goals of action plans
  • Coordinate approaches to objectives and service supports through corresponding between the rehabilitation department and the clinical team.
  • Monitor member progress and activities with members ensuring timely completion of accurate clinical documentation, member updates, and reports as required.
  • Plan, coordinate, conduct and facilitate rehabilitative, goal-oriented educational and social opportunities, activities and events within the community and with the program.
  • Practice person-centered, trauma informed care with member social interactions utilizing factors including but not limited to active listening and meeting people where they are at.
  • Maintain a safe, serene, and trauma informed environment of wellbeing by exhibiting vigilance, situational awareness, crowd control, and de-escalation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be an effective team-player, multi-task, manage stress, take initiative and be flexible and adaptable to changing program and community needs.
  • Utilize efficient computer proficiency to support members working toward employment and recovery, including but not limited to technology access assistance, resume building, cellphone navigation or application completion.
  • Routinely stocking and hygienically serving meals and drinks as needed for day-to-day needs including but not limited to lunch service, daily market and events.
  • Housekeeping responsibilities including but not limited to light cleaning, coffee station management, and inventory stocking and tracking.
  • Abide by program operating hours with punctuality and consistency.
  • Participate in team and department meetings and complete all required trainings as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
