About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Production Supervisor, the Day Services Vocational Assistant implements daily programming as prescribed. This hands-on position provides assistance with vocational and work-related skills, independent and daily living skills, mobility skills, social development, and personal care, including toileting and feeding. The role also requires following established behavior plans.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to three months of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement daily programs established by the Vocational Specialist to promote participants’ personal growth and independence, including activities related to daily living, personal care, social and community skills, and mobility.
• Provide general supervision for assigned consumers at all times, including during breaks, lunch, social activities, and work enclaves.
• Transport participants to community outings and community work.
• Provide backup supervision for the Day Service Program when the Vocational Specialist is absent.
• Contribute to developing, evaluating, and charting individual Program Plans on a semi-annual basis.
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects.
