About The Position

Teach assigned classes in a Clinical Setting for our Vocational Nursing program. Meet with didactic and clinical faculty members to discuss program development. Support the Campus Director and Nursing Program Coordinator in organizing the program and implementing program standards. Maintain continuous knowledge of medical education and ensure the facility meets continuous medical education requirements.

Requirements

  • The BVNPT requires a Bachelor's degree for LVN and RN faculty candidates.
  • Instructors in a vocational nursing program must either have or be currently attending a teaching course offered by an approved school and meet the following based on their licensure:
  • Registered Nurse: Hold a current California active Registered Nurse license.
  • Registered Nurse: Hold a baccalaureate degree from an approved school; or hold a valid teaching credential; or have completed at least one year of full-time teaching experience in a state-approved registered nursing, vocational nursing, practical nursing, or psychiatric technician school within the last five years; or meet community college or state university teaching requirements in California.
  • Registered Nurse: Have a minimum of two years experience as a registered nurse or licensed vocational nurse within the last five years.
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse: Hold a current California active Vocational Nurse license.
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse: Hold a baccalaureate degree from an approved school; or hold a valid teaching credential; or have completed at least one year of full-time teaching experience in a state-approved registered nursing, vocational nursing, practical nursing, or psychiatric technician school within the last five years; or meet community college or state university teaching requirements in California.
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse: Have a minimum of two years experience as a vocational nurse within the last five years.
