About The Position

Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts is seeking three Part-time Didactic Nursing Instructors for their Vocational Nursing Program at the Modesto Campus. This role involves teaching assigned classes in a didactic setting, collaborating with faculty for program development, and supporting the Campus Director and Nursing Program Coordinator. The instructor must stay current in medical education and meet facility requirements for continuous medical education.

Requirements

• Must meet BVNPT requirements for faculty candidates, including holding a Bachelor's degree for LVN and RN
• Instructor must be currently attending or have completed a teaching course offered by an approved school
• Meet one of the following qualification pathways:
• (A) Registered Nurse: Hold a current active California Registered Nurse license
• Have a baccalaureate degree from an approved school, or a valid teaching credential, or minimum one year full-time teaching experience in a state-approved nursing or psychiatric technician school within last 5 years, or meet California community college or state university teaching requirements
• Have at least two years nursing experience (registered nurse or licensed vocational nurse) within the last five years
• (B) Licensed Vocational Nurse: Hold a current active California Vocational Nurse license
• Have a baccalaureate degree from an approved school, or a valid teaching credential, or minimum one year full-time teaching experience in a state-approved nursing or psychiatric technician school within last 5 years, or meet California community college or state university teaching requirements
• Have at least two years vocational nursing experience within the last five years

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned classes in a didactic setting in person at the Modesto Campus
• Collaborate with didactic and clinical faculty for program development
• Support the Campus Director and Nursing Program Coordinator with program organization and implementation of standards
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge in medical education and ensure continuous medical education requirements at the facility are met
