VMware VCF Engineer
About The Position
This is a Contract to Hire position focused on delivering implementation and migrations for VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF). The role involves hands-on execution of tasks within active projects, including configuration, upgrades, and day 2 operational tasks, under the guidance of an architect. The position requires staying current on VMware and industry technology trends. Requirements
- 5+ years of overall VMware experience with hands-on implementation and troubleshooting in enterprise environments
- 2+ years of VMware Cloud Foundation experience
- Hands-on implementation experience (VCF 9 production is ideal, could be open to VCF Lab or POC)
- Exposure to Greenfield and/or Brownfield VCF deployments
- Ability to execute upgrades, configurations, and day 2 operational tasks under architect guidance
- Must be advanced in one of the following: NSX, Automation, VKS/Tanzu
Nice To Haves
- Automation and scripting experience with VMware Aria Automation, Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Ansible, Terraform, SaltStack) and PowerShell, PowerCLI, and/or JavaScript
- Enterprise VMware infrastructure experience (including: vSAN, Storage / SAN, Server virtualization & operations, VMware NSX (implementation/support level))
Responsibilities
- Design, development, and implementation of: VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) – Greenfield and Brownfield, VMware Aria Automation, Automation and IaC solutions
- Perform configuration, upgrade, and migration services
- Execute hands-on implementation tasks within active projects
- Contribute to automation initiatives using scripting and orchestration tools
- Stay current on VMware and industry technology trends
