About The Position

MANTECH is seeking a motivated, career- and customer-oriented VMware Systems Engineer for a future opportunity in Norfolk, Virginia. This is a 100% on-site role. As a Systems Engineer II (VMware Administrator), the role is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting the NCTE VMware virtualization environment. The engineer will collaborate with IT professionals across contracts to help ensure the reliability, performance, and security of the NCTE virtualized infrastructure. An active Secret clearance is required.

Requirements

High school diploma and 5 or more years of experience managing VMware vSphere environments.
Proficiency in VMware vSphere, vCenter Server, and ESXi administration.
Strong understanding of virtualization concepts, technologies, and best practices.
Familiarity with storage, networking, and server hardware technologies.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Must hold an active Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and configure VMware vSphere servers.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize VMware infrastructure performance.
Manage VMware vCenter Server, including resource allocation and performance tuning.
Plan and execute VMware ESXi host upgrades, patches, and security enhancements.
Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate VMware infrastructure with storage, network, and other systems.
Develop and maintain documentation for VMware infrastructure configurations, procedures, and best practices.
Provide technical support and assistance to end-users and other IT teams as needed.
