About The Position

The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium is seeking a part-time Visual Merchandising Supervisor for its Merchandise department. This role is responsible for overseeing merchandise personnel, creating displays, stocking products, relocating fixtures, and maintaining fresh displays to drive sales. The supervisor will also assist in creating a safe and pleasing shopping environment for guests, communicate and assign daily tasks to merchandise crew members, and ensure adequate inventory levels. The ideal candidate will promote a positive environment, support and train team members, and contribute to an excellent guest experience. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Merchandise and is part-time, non-exempt.

Requirements

Must be 18+ Years of age
A High school diploma or GED equivalent is required
Previous personnel supervision experience required
Counterpoint register system and Inventory control experience is required
Proficiency in basic math skills
Excellent communication and listening skills
Ability to learn and execute a concept, multitask and delegate
Must have the physical ability to lift 35 pounds
Must be able to work on your feet
Must be able to walk the Zoo grounds for several hours at a time
Ability to work a flexible schedule, 5 days a week, Monday-Sunday, including some holidays

Responsibilities

Oversight of subordinate merchandise personnel
Assisting with the creation of displays
Stocking products

Communicating/assigning daily tasks to Merchandise crew members to accomplish department’s planned goals
Ensuring adequate inventory levels
Promoting a positive environment
Supporting/training team members to achieve excellent experience for our guests
