Visual Assitant
About The Position
The Visual Assistant supports the store’s Visual Merchandiser with product imagery and presentation, helps ensure the store meets brand standards, and partners with the Visual Merchandiser and store managers to support business through visual merchandising. The role also assists with product knowledge education and teaches the store team the brand’s visual standards. The position is part-time in Malibu, with compensation of $22.00 per hour plus commissions. It requires open and flexible availability, including evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays, special projects, and product drops or releases. Travel to support other stores may be required.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience in visual merchandising.
- At least 6 months of retail or apparel experience.
- At least 6 months of customer-facing experience.
- Open and flexible availability, including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
- Availability to consistently work weekends and support special projects, drops, and releases as business needs require.
- Ability to multitask and efficiently manage multiple projects.
- Strong communication skills and ability to delegate tasks appropriately.
- Ability to lift and move 25 pounds.
- Ability to perform retail tasks involving bending, twisting, and climbing ladders or step stools.
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
- Keen eye for detail; learns and adjusts quickly; open to feedback.
- Creative, reliable, and goal-oriented.
Responsibilities
- Maximize store space and layout based on SKU management.
- Conceptualize new visual ideas.
- Assist the Visual Merchandiser with daily and weekly floor moves.
- Assist with window merchandising, installations, and releases.
- Prepare daily arrivals of new and replenishment products, as well as upcoming releases.
- Work with the Visual Merchandiser and Store Management to ensure displays are sale-floor-ready and products are positioned properly on hangers.
- Communicate visual needs and opportunities to the Visual Merchandiser and Store Management.
- Assist with weekly floor moves as directed by the Visual Merchandiser.
- Assist store management with housekeeping, including dusting, sweeping, and collecting trash.
- Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and other inventory management tasks as required.
- Travel to support other stores as required.
- Assist with product knowledge education and teach the store team the brand’s visual standards.
