About The Position

Clear Lakes Dental is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate full-time Unlicensed Dental Assistant. No prior license is required as the company provides 100% fully paid training. This role involves assisting with patient preparation, instrument sterilization, room setup, and supporting dentists, dental therapists, and hygienists during patient treatments. The ideal candidate is well-organized, detail-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional patient care.

Requirements

  • School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years customer service experience.
  • A desire to learn more about the dental industry.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Attention to detail, well-organized and reliable.

Nice To Haves

  • Secondary education is a plus.
  • CPR training is not required but definitely a plus!
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Somali, Oromo or Hmong a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Performs job functions under the initial supervision of a licensed provider.
  • Reviews patient charts and prepares instruments and equipment.
  • Retrieves and records patient vital signs.
  • Performs procedures such as pouring stone models and preparing cases for the lab.
  • Records treatment information in patient records, documenting notes and charting the existing/proposed individualized treatment plan.
  • Provides dental chair assistance during oral surgical procedures, operating suction equipment, disinfecting the operative area, and supplying instruments and materials.
  • Sterilizes operatory rooms between patients and prepares the operatory.
  • Cleans and maintains equipment and work area.
  • Assists with infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, and assisting in dental procedures.
  • Applies topical medications in appropriate dosages or quantities as prescribed by a dentist.
  • Provides post-operative care instructions as directed by the dentist/provider.
  • Records patient's preferred choice of pharmacy.
  • Ensures that all carts and cabinets are stocked on a daily basis.
  • Assists in the completion of daily/weekly/monthly checklists with other Dental Assistants.
  • Performs related work as required, after appropriate training.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
